The Start Of Playoffs

Though the playoffs have not actually started we are in a single elimination situation and the Gators took it to heart.

On Saturday, coaches and parents were treated to some of the finest Gator rugby ever seen in the opinion of this albeit admittedly biased author. Every man stepped up to the challenge laid before them. Every man participated and performed to the best of his abilities on the way to victory. Credit too has to be given to the coaches who stepped back and let the players play. Bobby went so far as to let go and enjoy his family while showing his confidence in Paul and the team to take the direction and guidance he has provided to date and "run with it". Run with it, they did!

From start to finish the Gators never stopped running, missed an opportunity to ruck, blew a tackle or backed down. The backs rucked and ran amok as if they were possessed. At one point they looked to me more like a pack of mauling dogs, than rugby players mauling. As Coach Paul said "The ball is your bone". The forwards tossed about their opposite numbers like rag dolls, then went on to pass and run like backs. In a word, there was support.

Have a look at the pictures posted. Look closely at the faces of the Gators. They are full of confidence and determination. That is the winning combination they have been building towards all season and with it, they cannot lose.
